How does a recruiter placement guarantee work?

A placement guarantee is the window a recruiter stands behind a hire. Ours run 60, 120 or 180 days on contingency and retained searches, and 90 or 180 days on volume agreements. The guarantee you choose sets the fee.

Every agreement we write carries a guarantee. A longer guarantee costs more because we stand behind the hire for longer.

GuaranteeContingencyRetainedRetained + Volume
60 days25%20%
90 days15%
120 days30%25%
180 days33%28%20%

When a placement starts, you receive the exact fee, the start date and the guarantee end date, and you confirm whether the candidate reported to work before anything is paid. What happens inside the window is written into your agreement. Shannon Drews, HR Director at MacKay Manufacturing, put it this way: “We also had one that didn’t work out and Hans was great about sending us a replacement candidate.”
