Recruiting looks simple from the outside. It isn't.
It is part sales, part research, part interviewing, part problem solving and a lot of follow-through. The best recruiters can build trust quickly, learn technical jobs, make good judgment calls and keep moving when the easy answer is not there.

Recruiting at Compass is a real operating role: learning, judgment, follow-through and accountability.
You are responsible for finding the person other companies cannot find.
A Compass recruiter learns the client's operation and job, researches the market, identifies candidates, reaches out, interviews, qualifies, coordinates the process, follows up, solves problems and helps both sides decide whether the match is actually right. You will spend time on the phone, in email and text, researching companies and people, and learning enough manufacturing to ask intelligent questions.
Humble
Listen first. Ask questions. Admit what you do not know. Ego gets in the way of learning and trust.
Smart & curious
You should want to understand the machine, process, job and company instead of memorizing a script.
Self-directed
No one should have to chase you to work. You need to prioritize, follow through and keep your searches moving.
Resilient
People will not answer. Searches will get difficult. Priorities will change. You have to stay steady and keep going.
Ethical
If a placement is wrong, say so—even when putting the deal through would pay you.
Team-first
We share information, help one another and work as a team. The client and candidate come before individual credit.
Open locations will live here.
As Compass opens recruiter positions, this section will show the exact location, work arrangement, compensation plan and number of openings. If your market is not currently listed, you will still be able to qualify yourself for future opportunities.
If this still sounds interesting, qualify yourself.
We do not want people to win a recruiter job simply because they interview well. Our selection process is being designed to evaluate how you think, communicate, work, solve problems and fit the Compass culture.
